My Action Plan
It’s time for the Democrats to go on the offensive, to take a stand. The good news is that in a recent survey, Democrats overwhelmingly say their congressional leadership should stand up to Trump, 82%, up from 70% last year.
That’s why I am running for the house seat in our district. To be among the 82% that stands up to Trump and his Republican lackeys in our state.
I am new to politics, which I think is a benefit to our community. I come to the cause with new ideas and a new energy, not wanting to run the same DFL playbook that we’ve been running these past 30 years. A playbook that has stopped working in our most recent elections.
I am committed to taking back House District 36A, so we can begin to govern responsibly for the citizens of our community and our state. All of them, all the time.
About Me
I’m Jackson Miller, a biomedical engineer, husband, and proud Lino Lakes resident with my wife, Kelly. I grew up in Prior Lake and have spent the past twelve years in the medical device field—helping solve problems that directly impact people's lives.
In 2024, when Trump won his second term, it was a gut punch. Right then and there, my wife and I decided that we needed to get more involved in our community. After getting to know the needs of this community, it was clear that we needed someone in the MN House who was ready to fight for us. People were tired of getting pushed around and it was time for someone to stand up for this community.
I’m running because I’m tired of seeing nothing get done because it’s a split house and I want to bring my engineering problem solving background to the table. I know that we’re all struggling with recent events, we’re angry and tired and frustrated and we want something done about it. I see my role as giving a voice to those who feel like everyday is a struggle and that all they need is for someone to be on their side, to listen what they’re going through and I will do whatever I can to help.
My Platform
Prosperity
Too many people use the term "Affordability". To me, that term means to lower costs so we can get by. Life is hard enough already, that getting by is no longer an option. We need to look at costs, not just to get by, but to thrive. The state needs to take actions on healthcare, childcare, housing, and other essentials without sacrificing quality of life.
Prioritizing Kids
Everyone can agree that kids are our future, but for too long our education system has been under attack from cuts. I’ll fight for fair school funding, better teacher pay, mental health support, and safe environments for every child because schools are the heart of our neighborhoods.
Balancing Growth and the Environment
As Minnesotans, we know how important the environment is to us. I will protect our lakes, parks, and quality of life. We also need to look at Growth in our community. Ensure that people want to move to our community, grow our economy and schools. We need to do this thoughtfully, preserving and protecting what makes this area so special while planning for the future.
Government Accountability
It's very clear the Federal Government is going to do whatever it wants, legal or not. I want to strengthen the MN Government to ensure that our residents are protected from federal overreach. I also want to make sure that the MN state government is funding programs that invest in Minnesotans, not Larger Corporations and billionaires. We should create guardrails and safety nets—not red tape.
